I think the Slytherin house exists to teach others how to handle the Dark Side. If all the good wizards never have anything to do with evil, they would run away if they ever got in contact with an evil wizards. All of the other three houses learn from Slytherin.
I think it is good that there is a house like Slytherin. I think it has to be in the book because a good book for kids has to show the difference between good and bad. I think it was a good idea that all the bad things in the book like Voldemort, Malfoy, Snape (more or less) has to do with Slytherin.
Every house to some reasons why students are accepted in it. According to the Sorting Hat you will find your real friends and he also says that the best magicians come from Slytherin. Slytherin must exist because if not, then some students would have to go to another schoo. There are only students with real wizard blood and who are children of generations of wizards and witches. But sometimes the best of them want to have more power than others like Draco Malfoy who believe in powers of the Dark Arts. One of them was Voldemort.back to quiz questions
