What life lesson is the reader supposed to learn

from the Mirror of Erised?

possible answers:

That if you only think of what you don´t have, then you will forget to live the life you have. Dumbledore says to Harry that the mirror had driven some people mad. If you only think of what you would like to have, you can forget that you don´t know if this can become true. The reader should learn that it is important not to forget about reality. You will forget about reality if your thoughts are only circling around your deepest desire.

The Mirror of Erised shows the watching person what he always wanted to have. Everybody has something he wants most but sometimes you can´t recognize it and perhaps that might be better so. Because you get eager of watching yourself as perfect and forget everything around you. It´s better to know what you want to to work for it than only to watch it.

I think the Mirror of Erised can teach you a lot. It says that people were sitting in front of it and went mad because they didn´t know if it shows the future or just your dreams about it. Even Harry gets lost in the spell that goes out from the Mirror.
The true lesson though I think is that you should take a short look at what you desire. But then you should stop that dreaming around and go to work to achieve your goals.

The Mirror of Erised shows us our deepest desire of our hearts which doesn´t tell us either truth or knowledge, as Dumbledore says. That´s why many people have been driven mad, because they and not anyone else could tell if it is real or even possible. And therefore we shouldn´t forget to live and we shouldn´t lose our goals. Everybody is the own master of his/her own life and should try to make their dreams come true on their own.
