We did summaries of each paragraph of the article, but sorry - they got lost! The article describes the enormous success of the Harry Potter books, for example how book shops opened at midnight of the day they were allowed to sell the novel. The article tells us about the author´s life, including how she had the idea and then started writing about Harry. We get some information about the story and some major aspects in the books. We also read about the controversy concerning the books, the heated debates in some areas. Finally, the article tries to answer the question just why Harry Potter is so popular.Spotlight, by the way for those who don´t know this magazine, is a special magazine written in English but published for German readers, especially for students. You can choose articles written for intermediate, advanced etc. levels of knowledge of the English language.
